Following our latest exit, Symphonic Trust, we caught up with CEO Derick James to review this successful exit and some of the returns our EIS Fund investors made.

In 2014, Par Equity invested in Symphonic Software (Now part of Ping Identity), a spin-out from Edinburgh Napier University. Fast forward nearly 7 years, and Symphonic is a leader in dynamic authorisations for identify security and now, as of yesterday, part of the Ping Identity group. Another excellent exit for Par Equity, and another success story for Edinburgh’s tech ecosystem. We’re proud to have supported the business in every round of investment and played our part in this exciting journey. Enormous congratulations to Derick James, Niall Burns, and all the team at Symphonic, as well as Par Investor Director Richard Lewis.

Symphonic illustrates what Par Equity is all about. The opportunity was identified by Richard Lewis, a member of our Investor Network, who, with his colleagues has supported the founders with in-depth expertise ever since. Building on our investments, their hard work has resulted in the creation of a successful company that will remain in Edinburgh after the sale and continue to deliver its innovative technology to a global audience. Par Equity is in the business of making high quality investments that yield excellent returns. Our investors can have no doubts that this is what we have done once again”
